Connections 2040 is the shortened name for the Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). This website has been a portal to provide information and opportunity for meaningful public input in the last year for the development of the Cedar Rapid’s metro area land use and transportation vision for the future.
The development of an LRTP is a federal requirement of MPOs. Historically the LRTP has been based on the development of the best possible transportation plan which supports the member jurisdictions land use plans. This plan will be different.
There is a growing movement throughout the region, state and nation that we are in a place of change and we need to be smart in how we grow and deploy our limited resources.
